Apple Pickin'

Nothing says hello fall like heading to your local farm and picking apples. I heard about this great farm called Apple Crest just over the New Hampshire border with a festival each weekend including a blue grass band, pumpkins, apples, a creamery, make your own scarecrow, hayrides, cider doughnuts and so much more. Since I will be out of town 3 out of the 5 weekends in October I knew that last weekend was my only time to go. I was supposed to go on Saturday but it didn't work out so I recruited Janna to go with me after church on Sunday.Yummy apples, I picked them myself :)

It was almost like the fair!!

It was so fun to people watch, eat ice cream, and listen to blue grass!!!

To get to the orchard we had to ride on these trailers that were pretty much pew benches nailed down and then pulled by a tractor. It kind of helped with the authentic farm experience.

I think apple picking is going to be part of my official welcome to fall activity every year. I have already made apple crisp and am looking forward to making an apple cranberry pie soon... I may even go get fresh cranberries from the bog, because well I live in New England and can do that :)
