A Dream Come True

When I was in undergrad my friends and I would trek over to the NC State library some evenings to do homework and study. I would strategically look at the layout of the library to decide where the smart boys would be studying, you know the future doctors, lawyers, dentists, etc. and would make my way to that floor. I mean didn't you go work on managerial accounting homework late at night in your best outfit and of course pearls???
It should not be a surprise to most people that one of my heroes is Elle Woods. She truly inspired me to go for my dreams and that a manicure is a great idea when you are having a bad day. Because of her and after seeing Legally Blonde in the theater roughly 5 times, I knew I wanted to go to Harvard.
Enter the year 2009 and the graduate school applications, okay I didn't get into Harvard, heck I didn't even apply, but BC ain't too shabby and they even have a Law School. THEY HAVE A LAW SCHOOL!! (disclaimer, I am NOT in grad school to be a lawyer, something even scarier... a principal) As soon as I found that out, I knew I needed to find my Emmett and that the library was going to be just the ticket. So for the past 18 months I have jokingly made comments about how I was going to go study at the law library.. ha ha. Well my friends it is time to throw that joking out the window. And I no longer need to look at the map of the library to see where the smart guys are because it is crawling with them, umm which of course is not important because I go to study while I'm in the library ;)

So about a month ago, after it only taking me about 15 minutes to find it and kind of feeling like I was a freshman in high school all over again, I opened the door and walked in. There are HUGE signs on the doors that you should not even dare set foot in there unless you are a law student. So needless to say the first time I walked in I felt like someone was going to come up to me and yell at me and tell me they were going to sue me if I didn't leave, but then I remembered I was a law student and I had the documentation to prove it, granted it wasn't pink and scented, but I could prove I belonged nonetheless. So my friends this is part of the new chapter of my life taking a law class this semester, stay tuned for more exciting tales!
