My college roommate Meredith finally made it north for a little visit. True friends are those who will leave their warm climates and come visit you in February in the midst of piles of snow and very cold temperatures!!
ThursdayMeredith flew in Thursday morning and I had checked the weather and knew this was our one day for sunshine so we headed downtown. We walked through the Commons and the Public Gardens and Meredith had the obligatory photo with mama mallard and the ducklings! We lunched at 29 Newbury, though it is in a prime location, the food was not the best I have had, so needless to say, it is not on the top of my list for future visitors! We shopped down Newbury Street, Filene's was having a killer sale on their outerwear so I bought two more coats.. umm you can never have too many! Also, several of our Border's are closing so we picked up some fun books and then headed over to Anthropologie and various other shops. We headed home for yummy Italian and a bottle of red wine and lots of girl talk!!
Friday
We met Kelly at the diner for pancakes and coffee and then headed home in the monsoon and sat on the couch in our pjs the rest of the day!! Mid afternoon we showered and got dolled up for our hott date out on the town.
We dined at Ma Soba (thank you Groupon) which was fabulous and delicious sushi, I will definitely be returning! While we were at dinner it started to snow, it was so pretty.
Then we headed to the Boston Opera House for Mary Poppins. Oh my goodness, FABULOUS!!! We had so much fun and were so excited when Mary Poppins flies away at the end, right towards our section of the theater, ummm I know how to pick the good seats folks!
Saturday
We headed back downtown to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market and shopping, shopping, and more shopping!
Saturday night was FREEZING so I let Meredith borrow the puff magic and she was toasty warm... we dined at Border Cafe' in Harvard Square
Sunday
Early Sunday morning it snowed several inches, so we woke up to a winter wonderland, it was beautiful!! After church we headed to Concord and hit up my favorite children's boutique Fritz and Gigi for some auntie loving, buying fun gifts for our nieces!! We lunched at the yummy place that Tay and I lunched at when she came in December.
Meredith, thanks for coming to visit! I had so much fun and am so thankful for your friendship and your love and support through the years :)
I am looking forward to the fun times in the upcoming months!!
And just name the day and I will meet you back at good ole MC and we can be roomies again!!
