One of my students was looking through a book about President Abraham Lincoln during our DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time one afternoon. Very inquisitively she brought the book over to me.
"Miss Grant, is that the bad one? Is that Bush?" she said pointing to a picture of Abraham Lincoln.
I was completely taken aback. "No, that is Abraham Lincoln, he was a good President, and Bush is not a bad one." Okay I didn't say that I just said no... what I wanted to say was umm you should be thankful for Abraham Lincoln... but I didn't.
I guess it wouldn't be a good idea to wear my George W. Bush is my homeboy t-shirt to work this week... haha
