I walked into the church building on Sunday morning after successfully finding my way via public transportation. I subconsciously took a deep breath as I walked up the stairs mentally thinking.... okay church search week 1....check....wonder where I should visit next week? But then to my surprise, He met me there. He met me in the friendly smile of the lady who handed me a bulletin and welcomed me. He met me in the friendly girl I sat next to. He met me in the songs praising His name. He met me in His word and through the messenger He used to bring it to me. He met me in lunching afterwards with new friends. He met me on the gorgeous sunny afternoon in a little park on my walk home. Why was I so surprised? Hadn't this been what I and everyone else had been praying for me ALL summer long?
Even today, two days later, Sunday still brings tears to my eyes. In more ways than one this journey to Boston has been a faith stretcher. As I said to my oldest sister on the phone today, I am back.. the real Karoline the one I was ultimately created to be, she is bursting forth in this environment and as Eric Little once said, "When I run I feel God's pleasure". I am feeling God's pleasure. I know this is where He called me, I have seen that evident in so many months of preparation and in so many months of being on my face BEGGING Him to show me what to do and where to go. ..... He answered! Around every corner, He has met me. I don't know why I didn't expect Him to show up... He always has!

Good! I am so glad that God met you in church on Sunday. This should ALWAYS be the case, but sometimes it isn't--not because He isn't willing, but because something gets in the way. I am so happy for you that nothing got in the way for you this weekend.
How cool is that. That He met you there? When I was (much) younger, God took me on an adventure from Los Angeles to rural Ohio (perhaps a bit of the opposite of your adventure...) :-) Anyway, I still look back to the ways He worked in that experience, and marvel at His faithfulness.
p.s. How do you like Boston? We live 1.5 hrs north in Maine, and I gotta say, New England is all kinds of gorgeous...c
beautiful writing Karoline. I really love moments like these when God once again proves himself faithful to us and we act surprised!! This is such an amazing time for you! I pray that He continues to bless you!
Love it!!!
oh chica. this post brought tears to my own eyes. I am so glad things are going so well for you.
Very good post! I very recently decided to leave Providence. I'm hoping to find a church closer to where I currently live, so I hope that He is willing to meet me too! Glad to know things are going well for you!
