For this year's 8th grade graduation our school had Chris Carrawell as the keynote speaker. He played for Duke back in the late 90's. He gave a great message to the kids about working hard, staying in school, and gave lots of stats on the success rate of those who make it to the pros. One thing that he was trying to drive home was the importance of making good grades. He said people who make A's and B's are the ones driving the BMW and Mercedes. C's are okay... but the people who make D's and F's are the ones who drive Corollas. Tow of my friends looked at me and busted out laughing (I drive a Corolla). After the ceremony I went up to him and said, "Umm I need to talk to you, just because you drive a Corolla doesn't mean you made D's and F's." He looked so embarrassed. I said, "I'm just messing with you, but you need to go into politics cause well we teachers can't afford BMWs."

Hey- I drive a Corolla too!! I think it just says that even though we got A's we are good stewards of our resources.
