Happy 1st day of First grade! Recess and smilin with a few of my new students.
Today went so well! I could definitely feel the prayers of everyone praying for me. I had 21 students today and will be getting number 22 tomorrow. Quite a change from my 17 last year. This group of kids seems great! I have a lot more girls than boys which makes a huge difference. Last year it was pretty much 50/50. We worked our little brains hard today and it seems like we are off to a great start. Towards the end of the day my throat was hurting from talking so much.... yeah yeah yeah I know what you are thinking... yes I do like to talk but 8 hours straight is a bit much even for me :)
At one point in the day one of the little boys said to me, "Excuse me"... yes? "I like you!" with a HUGE grin.
One little girl ran back to give me a hug as she and her mom were walking down the hall and said in her cute hispanic accent, "You are my best teacher EVER!" Gold star and major brownie points for her...hahaha!
Well my feet hurt from standing and walking around the classroom all day and on a personal note, I was on time!!! Hahaha
