Stuff

I am realizing more and more how materialistic I am. This purging process to get ready for my move has shown me how much stuff I have. Do I really need all of this? Goodness!! It is a bit out of control. How did this happen? Where did all of this come from? I mean I have moved several times in the past 8 years, I take at least 1-3 trash bags to Goodwill ummm about 1-2 times a year minimum I AM a self-proclaimed pack rat and I know how to bargain shop with the best of them, but am starting to realize that I don't need as much as I thought to get by, or at least I am hoping (stay tuned to find out as I move to the mousehole)!
I have several times gotten to the point where I just want to throw it ALL away and start from scratch. I am driving my car up there so pretty much whatever fits in the car gets to go and the rest will be sold, given away, or pitched!
This is a lot harder than I thought and as each piece of furniture gets sold and removed it is starting to get really depressing around here!

I like the way the Message puts it:
"Don't hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it's safe from moth and rust and burglars. It's obvious, isn't it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being." Matthew 6: 19-21

Oh Lord, help me not to hoard and give me the peace and grace to let go!!!
