1st Annual JJ vs. KG 5K Race for the Cure (for rabies)

This may come as a big shocker to some, but I am competitive. So when I was dining with friends a few months ago and started running my mouth and smack talking John about his running only a few miles a week, I somehow agreed to a 5k race against him. The date was set for Saturday, November 4th and then the cyberbullying ensued. Good thing I am a trained professional when it comes to this!!

The forecast was for cold weather and I was secretly excited because I had trained last winter for my first half marathon and was used to cold running temps. I also had God on my side, because the night before my pastor told me he was cheering for Team Karoline!

It was an absolutely gorgeous morning!! I was feeling pretty confident!

On your marks, get set, GOOOOOOO!

Beating up on my competitor!

Some girls chase boys, I pass 'em..... or try really hard to at least :)

Janna, my favorite running buddy and my coach for this event, we need to train harder next time!

Thanks to all the fans who came out to support me in my valiant effort!
Yes, I lost, but I think it would have been bad to beat him, I didn't want to crush his manly pride.
I did get some very beautiful flowers from him the next day at church, so it was all worth it!
