While Erin and Michael were in the hospital, I played mom for a few days. We played games, lots of Wii, read books, went to story time at the library, made cookies, and went to bed really late every night!!To try and claim my "GREATEST AUNT IN THE WORLD" title, I did the unthinkable and took the kids to dinner at the K&W and then for a fun evening at Chuck E Cheese... epic fail to the max. When did CEC get so ghetto? I didn't realize I needed a tattoo to be allowed in the door or that I needed to bring along my shack up honey and our three children. And who in the world has their kid's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese at 9 o'clock on a Wednesday night??? Really???
Luckily I only bought $10 worth of tokens, I was gonna splurge and go for the $20 package but after about 15 minutes into the evening I was ready to leave and glad I only put an Alexander Hamilton in that machine.
There was not much for little kids, oh wait, little kids usually love to watch the show and dance with the characters and laugh and sing and give high fives... NOT THESE KIDS. My niece is TERRRRRRRRRIFIED of Chuck E, I turn my back for two seconds and that stupid rat is making a bee line for her and before I could distract her the flood gates open and she is SCREAMING!! After that it was game over for little MK and she did not want to have anything to do with the place. We still had half our tokens to spend so I quickly tried to waste them. Being ever the smart woman that I am, I thought while my nephew was riding the snow mobile through the Himalayas, MK and I could play the little pop the gopher's bubbles game and he would see us standing right next to him.... NOT. Before I know it I hear him crying and look around to see him frantically trying to find me and when I finally make my way to him he reprimands me for leaving him. I will have to give the kid this, he was making his way up to the counter to tell the people who worked there he was lost, though Erin, I know you will read this, I promise I did NOT try to lose your child!!
So we spent the rest of our money, counted our tickets and each of the children left with a blue twisty straw and hopefully will not be scarred for life!
I have learned my lesson, next time we will just go to the bouncy place!
