Geraniums

The sight or smell of these beautiful red flowers instantly takes me back
To a little brick house with potted geraniums on the porch
To sailor dresses and Easter bonnets
To raisins on the back porch and swinging so high your jelly shoes fly off
To my tree
To a world that was worry free
And even now they are a small reminder that new life is springing forth
That God is gracious and that as He promises, beauty will rise from
the ashes
