Sus Comes to Visit

Public schools here do something that I had never heard of before, February vacation, which is a chance for all the loaded people to escape to their ski chalets for a week. So all that to say, Sus and I had decided we would vaca that week in celebration of this big birthday she was celebrating in January. The only problem was that flights out of here were super expensive, but super cheap to fly here... sooooo Sus hopped on a plane and came and spent the week with me :)

Tuesday we finally got some snow... I move north and the snow moves south!!

We ventured downtown multiple days. Monday we hit up Newbury St for some major window shopping and then got mani/pedis at this super cute place called Mia's. Mia is the owner and has been there for about 18 years. She is the most precious old Asian lady, I will definitely be going back there and am excited to have found my new nail place!!!

Wednesday we went to Fanneuil Hall and Quincy Market, downtown crossing for some mega shopping, sushi, and a movie.
Thursday we walked through the commons and the public gardens

We went to the waterfront and the North End and got some amazing cannolis at Mike's Pastry.
Thursday night I had class so Sus held down the fort while I was gone.
Friday we headed up to Maine.

We went to Freeport which is LL Bean capital of the world and oh my goodness it was an amazing place. The little town had outlets and they were all in cute little buildings spread out, which was so fun.

Friday night we spent the night in Portland and went out on the town to celebrate Sus' bday. We went to this amazingly delicious restaurant Local 188. The atmosphere was elegant with a bit of casual thrown in. Lots of fun tables and couches all over. I had the most amazing steak.... yummo!

Saturday we headed to Portsmouth for brunch at my new favorite place the Friendly Toast and a little shopping. Then headed back to my place, Saturday night we watched some more Olympics and chilled. More on the Olympics to come in a later post.
This morning I dropped her off at the airport. I think the reality of being away really hits me when people come to visit. It's kind of like you live in your own little world until they collide and I begin to miss my old life, but totally know this is where God has me. It was so wonderful to have sister time. Sus, come visit again soon!!!!
