Begin Again 2010

A new year has started, a chance to start fresh, make goals that are obtainable and yet some that may not be so obtainable. I love to say that I love new beginnings or fresh starts, but in all honesty they scare me to death. I get comfortable! But as I dig deeper I think it is that the present is often what we know and have our fingers grasped around and are very leery to let go and allow things to be different, even if that different is way better than where we are.
As I look back on 2009 I see a lot of changes. Some changes were wonderful changes and others have been very painful and hurting changes. Some that I don't understand and don't know if I will ever understand this side of heaven. Yet others that have been a constant reminder of God's faithfulness and provision and these give me hope for the future.
As I look forward towards the things that 2010 will bring, I have many questions. I am at the halfway point in my program, the point where you start to think towards what you will do afterward. I feel like I am in the same position I was 365 days ago as I looked towards what my next step would be, but I have also seen that God truly answers prayers, opens doors, shuts doors, and provides beyond our wildest imagination and I am resting in these promises!

I came across this quote today
"Awareness of your need for Me is what creates a strong connection to My Presence. My Power flows into you continually: It gives you strength to take the next step, strength to resist discouragement and despair, strength to know Me in intimate dependence…Though the way before you may be steep and rocky, it is nonetheless the path of Life. It is where you encounter My luminous Presence – radiating peace that transcends all understanding."

So I am strapping on my boots for the path of Life and will be prepared if it is steep and rocky and even more prepared because He is leading me every step of the way!

I LOVE that quote! Where did you get it? I'm going to have to copy it!
