I went home for Christmas on December 23rd. That was the night of the annual Grant Cousin Christmas party. This is the get together with my dad's side of the family. We have been doing this for as long as I can remember. Back in the day all my cousins and my sisters would pull out their instruments and play Christmas Carols. It was quite precious. Now my 2 youngest sisters are the last of the cousins who participate and now it's the great grandchildren who participate. It was fun to get to see my cousin's children and of course my precious nephews.
On Christmas Eve my family went to the Christmas Eve service at church. It used to be candlelight but now that they are in their brand spanking new state of the art building we are not allowed to have one... sad day :(
After the service Erin's in-laws hosted us for Christmas dinner. It was so much fun. They are so sweet and it was fun. My brother in law tickled the ivories and we all sang Christmas Carols.
Then EVERYONE (brothers, sisters, parents, nephews, sis in law, bro in law) all spent the night at my parent's house. We woke up Christmas morning and opened presents...... 3 hours later we ate breakfast. The ones who had to went to the in law and the rest of us lucky ducks bummed around the house in pjs and watched new movies, played new games, and ate and ate and ate.
We also were told by Ben and Jenna that another little Grant is due the end of July. We are so excited because we will have 2 new babies for next Christmas :)
The day after Christmas we all headed to Myrtle Beach for a week of relaxing, shopping, and I think I re-claimed my auntness and will once the children get older be able to buy their love :)
This was probably one of the best Christmas' ever!! I came back from the beach on New Year's Eve while most everyone stuck around until New Year's Day.
I love my family!!
