As I was discussing with one of my friends yesterday, when did we grow up? When did we get old enough to bring something to Thanksgiving dinner besides ourselves? I think more than ever this year has solidified in my mind that I truly am a grown up. Making the decision to move to Boston for graduate school was something that was so exciting and scary at the same time, especially since I made the decision and didn't have to ask anyone's permission. Today is another reminder that I am a grown up, this is the first year that I have been away from family on Thanksgiving. When I planned my move, I planned on not going home for Thanksgiving because I knew I was going to have a plethora of visitors during the fall and that Christmas break would be just around the corner. As I am sitting on my couch watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, it makes me miss my little sisters like never before. This is a tradition that has gone on for years and though a phone call definitely connects you, it just isn't the same.
I have so much to be thankful for today, and this amazing adventure I am on is a daily reminder of God's faithfulness and for that I am thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
