Yet another exciting day in the life of me! Let me just tell you!! (Read on to the bottom and find out about the excellent adventure of the ride home)
First off the wedding weekend was AMAZING! Meredith was such a gorgeous bride and we had such a wonderful time. I arrived Thursday night and we had a fun night of poker with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. It was so nice cause the house the bridesmaids stayed in was right on the beach. So, Thursday night Meredith and I sat out on the deck in the double papa chair and talked for over an hour catching up and talking about her getting married and such. It was such a special time.
Friday we got up and got ready and headed to the Bridemaid's luncheon in Wrightsville Beach. It was a fun time. I got back to the house in time for a quick nap and then had to get ready for the rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal went well and then off to the Royal Winner Princess II for the dinner and dancing the night away while cruising through the Intercoastal Waterway. Afterward the bride and groom snuck away for a quick "date" and the bridal party headed over to the Fat Pelican a rather charming little place. The locals were out and we had quite a showing of the local charm of the people of CB :)
Saturday morning up and at em early with a wonderful breakfast of Bo-Berry biscuits, fruit, and bagels. Then our hair genie showed up to work her magic followed by a wonderful surprise of massages for the bridesmaids, bride, and of course mother of the bride. I was in Heaven!!! I got a wonderful massage that helped to de-stress and relax me. Hair, make-up, then into our dresses, pictures, into the limo, and off to the church to get our friend hitched.
Beautiful ceremony followed by pictures on the beach followed by a boat ride to the reception and then the reception.
It was gorgeous and well just spectacular... beautiful tents with gorgeous paper lanterns and the backdrop of the waterway. Food, dancing, and a gorgeous cake.
Wonderful time and an amazing weekend!
Today, Taylor and I stayed later than everyone else and went to the beach and just enjoyed our day. I had left my cell phone charger at the wedding party house to went hunting for it and stumbled upon the bride and groom and family so got to give more hugs and well wishes and visit for awhile. Well finally hit the road about 4pm and about 40 miles outside of Wilminton the car started feeling funny like we ran over something and it didn't stop after a few seconds so I'm like oh great it feels like the tire so we pulled over. Yep flat tire... super... but good thing for us Taylor and I are super women and well we know how to change a flat tire... got the spare out, the jack, and all the assessories... jacked the car up and put the thingy on to get the lugnuts off and they wouldn't budge. We both tried several times and NOTHING!!! UGGGGGHHHH. So after like 20 minutes I was like whatever lets call AAA (cause well being ever the Martha Stewart I'm prepared).... so then I spent 20 minutes on the phone with the AAA dude trying to figure out what city we are in.
Dude: "What city are you in?"
Me: "Umm I don't know cause I'm on the side of the highway but oh I see a mile marker and we are just to the Duplin County Border"
Dude: "What city are you in?"
Me: "I don't know I'm on the side of I-40"
Dude: "So you don't know what city you are in?"
Me: "No, but we are at mile marker 338 and on the Duplin County Border"
Dude: "You don't know what city you are in?"
Oh my goodness it took him 20 minutes to finally ummm look at a map and figure it out and let me tell you that the Good Samaritan award was shamelessly not present today! NO ONE stopped or even SLOWED DOWN to make sure we were okay. The truck was on it's way to help us and finally this precious precious man and his wife stopped and helped us. So I want to send out into the world wide web a huge thank you to the man and his wife from Fuquay who stopped to help to damsels in distress!!
So needless to say Taylor and I pretty much really needed to find a potty at this point and well we had a spare tire on the car and so we had to go ummm 15 miles under the speed limit and well Taylor is such a good friend that well we laughed the whole way back to Raleigh... especially when people would give us mean looks as they passed us on the highway...
LIKE WE REALLY WANTED TO BE GOING THAT SLOW!!!
So we had an eventful trek home but we are safe and sound and in our home and I will go buy a new tire tomorrow and we will move on with our lives and one day we will write a book and be famous for our lives!!
